Eleanor May Hammond, age 91, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Hocking
Valley Community Hospital in Logan, Ohio.
Born June 24, 1918 in McCunesville,
Ohio. Daughter of the Late William McKinley and Anna May (Hinkle) Gaver, she was the widow of Heskell Lee "Jack"
Hammond who passed away October 6, 2008.
Eleanor graduated from New
Straitsville High School in 1936. She formerly worked for Godman Shoe Factory in Logan and had been the bookkeeper for the
family business, Hammond Signs and Hammond Bulletins in Logan; she was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Logan
and a former member of the "TOPS" Club in Logan.
Surviving
are a daughter-in-law, Carol Ann (Smith) Hammond and one sister, Mildred Lanning both of Columbus, Ohio.
Besides her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son, Robert Lee Hammond;
daughter, Donna Lee Hammond and one brother, Stanley Gaver.
Funeral
service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the Roberts Funeral Home with Dr. David G. Maze officiating.
Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
Burial will be in New Lexington Cemetery, New Lexington, Ohio.
