Stephen Douglas Travis Sr., aged 74 of Logan, Ohio, passed away at Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Logan, Ohio on Friday, February 6, 2026.
Born December 4, 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the son of the late Arthur Raymond Travis Jr. and Roberta Jean (Brantley) Travis. He was a 1971 graduate of Logan High School.
During life, Stephen worked as a firefighter for Logan-Hocking Fire Department, as a school bus driver for Logan-Hocking School District, and at Anchor-Hocking in Lancaster, Ohio. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Stephen was a proud member of New Hope Congregational Methodist Church in Gore, Ohio. He was also a member of Logan Moose 873 and Logan Eagles 2168. He greatly enjoyed being outdoors and working with his hands.
Stephen is survived by his sons, Stephen (Kari) Travis Jr. of Medford, Wisconsin and Matthew (Stephanie) Travis of Toledo, Ohio; daughter, Deneise Deanne (Monte) Addison of Logan, Ohio; multiple beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Paul (Sharon) Travis of Lancaster, Ohio, and Mark (Linda) Travis of Springhill, Florida; sister, Pam Travis of Brooksville, Florida; brothers-in-law, John (Linda) Green of Logan, Ohio, Harold (Carole) Green of Lincoln University, Pennsylvania, and Barry (Brenda) Green of Logan, Ohio, and Kenny Guess of Logan, Ohio; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Stephen was preceded in death by his wife, Suzan Marie (Green) Travis (2025); sister, Connie Travis; and sisters-in-law, Carol Guess and Betsy Lucas.
A funeral service officiated by Pastor Todd Smith will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, February 15, 2026 along with fireman honors at the Roberts Funeral Home in Logan, Ohio. Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery, Washington Township, Hocking County, Ohio where military honors will be performed by the Hocking County Honor Guard.
Visitation will be held from 11 AM until time of service at the Roberts Funeral Home on Sunday, February 15, 2026.
