William Rex "Bill" Holmes

William Rex “Bill” Holmes, aged 92 of Logan, Ohio passed away at The Carlin House in Logan, Ohio on Friday, January 30, 2026.

Born December 14, 1933 in Logan, Ohio, he was the son of the late Rex Kent and Janice (Morton) Holmes.

During life, Bill was a self-employed television and radio repair technician. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Logan, Ohio. A gifted and meticulous handyman, Bill could often be found tinkering in his garage.

Bill is survived by his grandson, William Colton Holmes of Logan, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Holmes of Logan, Ohio; brothers-in-law, James Howard Funk and Tony Funk, both of Logan, Ohio; and sister-in law, Linda Johnson.

Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Marie (Funk) Holmes (2014); son, William Thad Holmes (2023); brother, Kent Holmes; and sister, Margine Holmes.

A graveside memorial service officiated by Joshua N. Martin will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery in Logan, Ohio at a later date.
